Touch down in NYC
Finally arrived in NYC last night at around 8pm. The flight went pretty well for the most part, except when we were landing and the plane was bouncing up and down. We kind of landed with a "thud" ... but we arrived alive, so no complaints.
I do, however, have a complaint about passing through customs. Two of the agents I spoke with were very helpful and polite, but the third was just a jerk! He was wanking off doing nothing, and kept three of us sitting and waiting for over 15 minutes while he just sat in front of his computer. Anyway, I ended up getting everything sorted out ... but a word to the wise: don't believe what the American Embassy people tell you over the phone. It's the people at the airport that decide if you can enter the country or not, so it's worth going down and being very specific about the nature of your internship, what you'll be doing there, etc.
On that note, I'm off to get myself a bus pass and explore some of what the French so loving call "la Grosse Pomme" ... au revoir! ;)
